Hey everyone! Since many of us are still stuck inside, I've had time to put together something I've wanted to do for a long time. In RL, I'm on the board of a horsemen's association and put together and host schooling shows. I thought it would be fun to take that experience and make something similar on dA!
How this works
Since these are schooling shows, they are on a 2-week timeline Main discipline rotates, one show it'll be English, the next, Western. Halter and Liberty classes will be included in all shows.
No headshots are allowed, if you would like to enter a mini show see TVS/AHR On-Going Training Show. At minimum, full body images. Backgrounds are not required but highly encouraged, as are riders.
I am attempting to get this show recognized by H-I-E-F, see below for the judging criteria. (Again, if you want a pure RNG show see my mini show series above).
Judging
RNG - There is an RNG component to the judging. Each entry will receive between 1 and 5 points from the RNG roll. This is to represent the unexpected things that can happen at shows, especially schooling shows with young horses. (i.e. your horse spooked at a bush near A during the dressage test) Effort - For this show I'm expecting about median effort, based on your gallery. These entries should ideally be on a similar level to your training images. You will receive points on a scale of 1-5 for this.
Training - Previous training and/or shows play a small part in the judging for these events, and can award your horse an extra point or two.
Total points earn-able: 12
All first place winners are eligible for Best in Show, based on points. If there is a tie, RNG will decide the winner.
Because this is a schooling show meant to help gain experience for larger shows, these are the main points I'll be looking at, please feel free to give me feedback/suggestions on improving it!
Setting
TVS is set in the hills of San Jose, California. The facility sits on a about 50 acres, the majority of which are pastures. Artists have a choice of using the indoor arena, which has dressage letters pinned to the walls and mirrors on the short ends, or the outdoor arena which on one side overlooks the hills and on the other, overlooks the barns. We only get occasional rain, for the most part a cold day equals overcast and wind, and a warm day means lots of sun and few clouds. These are purposely vague so that you can take some liberties. This is about having fun! What to Include in Your Entries
